Helping sustain our local community and the wider region

Sheringham’s Greenhouse project is a truly sustainable opportunity to combine
three unique strands of our community life...

What we grow supported by 21 acres of specially prepared, adjacent arable land* for the new allotments.
Room for all current allotment holders, everyone on the waiting list and generations to come.

What we buy in a food-focused supermarket, competitively-priced and, wherever practical, locally-sourced.
A full supermarket service
in most aspects, it would complement rather than compete with our existing Town Centre shops.

How we prepare our food The Norfolk Food Academy; two state-of-the art, commercial teaching kitchens, each with
space for 25 ‘students’, with its own organic kitchen garden and polytunnel. Open to all!

The project will generate some 155 sustainable full and part-time jobs across its various strands, making it one of the area's
biggest employers.

* Includes land for Sheringham cemetery extension.

The proposed Greenhouse community project would offer Sheringham shoppers a highly competitive, alternative destination for their ‘weekly’ shop, as well as a café, new allotments and The Norfolk Food Academy.
